Profiles

Robert Foley, Esq. –

I have spent most of my adult life working with real estate and development projects. The son of a developer from Albany, New York, I purchased my first property in Vermont while still an undergraduate student at the University of Vermont in 1994. After graduating from UVM, I moved to Boston where I attended the Northeastern University School of Law.

After law school, I practiced as a real estate attorney in Boston with the nationally recognized firm of Robinson and Cole LLP. I represented national and local developers in the acquisition, financing, permitting, development and leasing of a variety of projects, including condominiums, residential subdivisions, affordable housing developments and commercial projects. I also represented several condominium associations and unit owners during my time in Boston. In addition to representing condominium associations in Boston, I also owned several condominium units and sat on the Board of one of those associations.

Upon my return to Burlington with my wife and young daughter, I began practicing real estate law with Paul Frank + Collins, where I was named one of Vermont’s leading real estate lawyers by Chambers’ guide to leading business lawyers in America. At PF+C I represented several of Chittenden County’s most respected developers, businesses and property owners.

Since leaving the practice of law, I have focused my energies on providing local condominium associations with superior management services. To this end, I have applied my legal knowledge and experience to assist Associations and their Board of Directors in complying with the Vermont Common Interest Ownership Act. I am also able to help reduce Association legal fees by providing the general background to the Board so that when legal assistance is required they do not spend as much time discussing the issues with their legal counsel.

In addition to my daily management work, I am also a licensed Real Estate Broker in Vermont and Massachusetts, a member of the National Association of Realtors, the Vermont Board of Realtors, the Northwestern Vermont Board of Realtors, the Vermont Bar Association, University of Vermont Chittenden County Alumni Association, Lake Champlain Chamber of Commerce, the Massachusetts Bar Association and the Homebuilders and Remodelers Association of Northern Vermont.
